- Budget – Approximately $10K but we have over $4K remaining to be paid out. We estimate a carry over for next season of over $6K.
- Programs – Chip received more payments and it appears Wild Boar is still outstanding – Dani or Chip will follow up
- Open Board Positions – Next season we will have the secretary, VP and Member at Large
Blue Line Club Minutes
January 8, 2019 at 6:05 p.m.

1. Budget – Presently we have $17,000 in account but still have expenses to pay. Estimated amount to be left over after season is around $5900. It was noted we will have 1 more home game where the Blue Line Club will provide a meal.
2. Senior Day – Committee is set and Chip is taking more photos.
3. Banquet – Pat made a motion for the event to be held at Oak Marsh again and it was unanimously voted yes on. Dani to call to reserve tentative date of 3/21 and establish menu.
4. Playoff Meal – Meal will be on 2/19 for varsity and coaches. Tentative restaurant is RJ’s as we are trying to support our businesses who support us.
5. Fundraising - Water softener – presently on hold; Taco Feed – Jersey’s have offered to host for next season if we want to continue with it; board also talked about doing the Cub Foods bagging again and barrel of booze fundraiser at a local restaurant/bar.
6. Open Board Positions – Next season we will have the secretary, VP and Member at Large

1. Budget – We have approximately $18k in account but have payments to make. We also lost money on the parent bus to Thief River. Board decided next year the board will need to decide on if the Blue Line Club will cover items for this trip in the future.
2. Misc – The minutes contain the location of our meetings and what is discussed. A.D. advised the school will only send 1 bus for all away games.
3.Program – The programs will be printed next week and we are still collecting money from sponsors.

- Tryouts – Cole will receive a list of registered players on Monday from FeePay and notify Jessi to ensure players that are registered are able to be on the ice for tryouts. Chip will be at the rink on Monday to collect the $375 Booster payment that is due from players.
- Events – Dani will be sending out an email after tryouts for volunteers to handle some of special events such as Senior Night, Grandparents Day etc.
- Tournaments – Dani will contact City Hall to confirm it is okay for parents to leave their vehicles in the parking lot overnight for the Thief River Falls/Crookston trip.
- Apparel – Final fitting day is Friday for players trying out
- Program – Chip has been reaching out to businesses and would like all monies and commitment by Friday.

- Budget - $7300 approximately in account. Captains practice cost is $210. Crookston/Thief River Falls - Dale received a bid for over $2800 waiting to
hear back from another company plus Cole is going to check with school to see if they have a contract with someone to see if that is cheaper. Present budget for this trip is around $4500. Parent bus will depart from City Hall.
- Apparel - Dale received 2 estimates and we are going with Advance Sportswear. CCM was chosen for the sweatshirt, shorts, long sleeve shirt, hat and pants. Dates for potential players to get sized will be announced shortly.
- Cub Foods - September sign ups are almost full. In need of 2 players for 10 a.m. shift. October we need parents for each shift and players for the 12:30 and 3:00 p.m. shifts. Cole will remind players to wear Tartan apparel and to report 10 minutes prior to shift.
- Taco Feed: October 20th from 12 – 4 p.m. at South St. Paul VFW. Dani will send email out to families to sign up via Sign-up Genius. We were informed the VFW building will be sold; future taco feeds are on hold until we hear if they are able to find a new location.
- Program – No updates.
- Misc. – Question was posed on whether winter athletes will gain free admission to hockey games since the ice rink is now owned by the school district (Cole to follow up with Munter).

- Budget – Dale transferred everything to Jessi. Chip to follow up with Catrina's payment for last year’s program. We received United Way monies plus we are receiving Amazon Smile money quarterly. Present balance is approximately $7400.
- Fundraising - Cub bagging is on the hockey calendar for a Sunday in September and October. Cole will send Remind texts to potential players when it gets closer. Taco Feed will be held on October 20th at the South St. Paul VFW. Chip will be working on the programs as well as price cost of reducing the size of the program.
- Captain Practice – Schedule is out on the website. Ice cost was increased; cost to participate is being reviewed.
- Tryouts - Week of November 12th. Schedule is on the website. Cole will be looking at using Remind for communication to players/parents.
- Apparel – Dale spoke to Moose and Advance on what they have to offer. It was decided we will be ordering new apparel for the players. More to come.
- Thief-Parent Bus, hotel reservations, player meals etc. – Dale will be securing the bus for the parents and the school will cover the bus for the players. Dani will secure rooms at Grand Stay and C'Mon In. The BLC will supply 1 lunch and 1 dinner for the players.
- New Business - Cole mentioned he would like to look into the kids doing a fundraiser by selling water softener salt. He will be getting more information on this and coordinating with the players. Pat mentioned it might be nice for the players to give back to the youth program by doing a BBQ for their tryouts.

- Budget – Just under $12,000; calendar and program money continue to come in; future purchases to be addressed in advance by board
- Holiday Tournament – It was voted that Tartan Hockey will participate in the 2018-2019 Schwan’s Cup.This means we will have 9 home and 16 away games for next season.It was confirmed the school will provide a bus for the players to the tournament.
- Fundraising – Chip would like to do a multi-year investment by the businesses and possibly incorporate a gold/silver and bronze tier for our program. We are also looking at other fundraising opportunities like a casino night, golf tournament and more meat raffles.We will also see about participating in the Summerfest in Oakdale.Board members were asked to bring a name of a hockey parent to assist with these events to get more involvement in the program.
- Wall of Fame and Memorial – We are looking at doing a “Fan of the Year” since Cole is new this year and awarding it to Ms. Peasha and her grandma.We are going to be contacting TAYHA to see about renaming the BLR to honor Bernie Montero.
- Banquet – It was voted by the hockey board would pay for the parents to attend the banquet.We are also looking at purchasing something different for the seniors gift keepsakes.
- Expenses still need to be discussed – Playoff meal will be at Wild Boar on February 23rd at 6 p.m. – turkey dinner to be provided.
- Misc. – Complaints have been received that stats are not being called into the newspaper timely.Cole will address with statisticians.
Dale will get the bi-laws to Dani.

- Banquet: Will be held at Oak Marsh and Dani will contact them for pricing, menu and to see if March 15th is available.
- Misc.: Cole stated we will be going to Thief River Falls and Crookston next year and he will also be looking into the Schwan’s Cup.

1. Dale presented the updated budget adding in the apparel that was voted on at our meeting in Sept. He also added in a budget for new practice jerseys for the Varisty (skittles be gone) and lastly added in a budget for team equipment (tape, mouth guards, etc)
2. Team fees were set at $325 per player. Team fees are due before the player can take the ice for tryouts. If the player does not make the team, we destroy the check. (Stacey and Chip-if you do not agree with that fee please let us know)
3. Chip was not present but did send an email on the progress of the program. He has heard back from a few places confirming renewal and a few that opted out. He will begin phone calls next week to those who have not responded or that we did not have email addresses for.
4. Doug Olssen attended the meeting and he will get a proposal from his photographer to use this year. Doug will also get a proposal to Cole for the new practice jerseys. It was discussed the fee for the photographer and we decided we have it in the funds to pay up to $600 for a photographer. Also we agreed that the photographer and Doug will get a full page to split between the two companies in the program for free.
5. The Taco feed is all set with all shifts filled per the Sign up genius. We decided to challenge the baseball players and families to attend out fundraiser as Cole purchased a ticket for their fundraiser in Nov. The thought process was to promote one Tartan and to build as a school and support different teams.
6. Cole will contact Munter to get information on when feepay will open so players can sign up for hockey. He will also contact Patti to get it in the announcements. Once that is confirmed I will send and email to all players letting them know it is open and also about the team fees.
7. We have tentatively picked Dec. 9th for Grandparents Day and Jan. 27th for Senior Night. Once teams are set I will send out a sign up genius for parents to volunteer for one of these communities.

- Bernie - apparel prices and options – This year we will be purchasing new apparel for all players as Bauer was bought out and prices increased significantly. Team managers will be provided with apparel items. We looked at apparel from Tron and CCM and CCM was chosen.
- Apparel fitting date/time will be November 12, 2017 from 8 – 12:00 p.m.
- Captain’s practice: AD will be placing information in announcements tomorrow. Cole will be notifying AD to place information on tryouts/parent meeting in the daily announcements. Captains practice money is due NLT October 2nd.
- Taco Feed: October 21st from 12 – 4 p.m. at South St. Paul VFW. Dani will be sending information out tomorrow to families tomorrow as the expectation that any player trying out the family needs to work the taco feed. Families will sign up via Sign-up Genius.
- It was noted the VFW has filled its slots for the meat raffle. Dani will check back periodically to see if we can get in.
- Program – Chip updated portions of the letter and has worked on getting correct contact information for those businesses that have supported us in the past. Chip will be inviting Doug Olssen to our next board meeting as they will need to work on finding a new photographer. Cole presented some additional ideas for fundraising.
- Cole provided the board with background information on his coaching staff.
Cole will be looking at a future date to donate our hockey equipment to United Heroes League.
It was also discussed about rotating our board meetings to the businesses that support Tartan hockey.

- Budget – Present balance is $11,408 with the board was briefed on all anticipated expenses. It was also confirmed our non-profit license was current.
- Captain Practice – Anticipating using 21 hours of ice along with some weight training and agility; estimated cost is $195. We are also anticipating team fees to be $375 per player.
- Taco Feed/Meat Raffles – Dani will contact the VFW to see if we can host the taco feed on October 21, 2017. We get a portion of pop, tacos and liquor from the back bar. We will be doing the meat raffles again this season and are looking to increase the amount of raffles we do since they were successful last year. Information will be sent out to families for assistance with these events.
- Program – Chip volunteered to contact businesses to secure ads in our program.
- Apparel – Bernie will be assisting in this area again and has been in contact with Advance Sportswear. Bauer was sold and prices increased for this brand. We will be looking to purchase CCM items. Bernie will provide quotes at the next meeting.
- Equipment Room – We have some old equipment we need to clear out. It was decided we will donate it to United Heroes League and have the high school players assist as part of a community service event.
- Food Person – Pat has agreed to execute the planning and ordering of food during our season for the players.
- Open Discussions – Dani to look at who signed Tartan Hockey up for Amazon Smile so our community can donate to our non-profit. Dani also shared you can also donate by directing your United Way contributions to us. We will get some information out on the website and out to our hockey community.
